Magpie Models
My collection 2021
Although my first model horses as a child were Julip HOTYs, the moment I laid eyes on a Magpie Models catalogue I was 100% converted. The realism of the horses was wonderful but also the sheer quantity of all the little bits of tack and accessories blew my tiny 10-year-old horse addled mind! :D I remember making big long lists of all the things I wanted. From the running martingales to the cute little feed buckets to the rugs and the gymkhana sets. The special 'personality' horses in the catalogues each year were also stunning and I accumulated a small herd of little beauties over a few birthdays and Christmases.

Many years later while at Uni I rediscovered my love of model horses and began adding to my magpie herd again. I think I had around 70-80 at one point! The limitations of the magpie riders for setting up scenes however meant I would always turn to my Julips to scratch that itch and my magpie herd was sorely neglected. A few years back, I decided to part with the vast majority of the herd and let them go to homes where they would be properly appreciated. But I couldn’t let them all go of course! A few of my favourites and original (slightly battered!) models from my childhood had to stay. I also have waaay too many magpie stables and riders considering how small the herd is!
